Handgun laws

I would like to suggest that the laws be changed so that the minimum age required to carry a handgun be age 18, and we should also adopt a constitutional open carry policy. At age 18, one is legally responsible for his own actions, therefore he should be granted full freedom to pursue his own course of action. I should have the ability to protect myself. I shouldnt be forced to depend on the government for my safety.
