    Hello, Governor-Elect Abbott,

My name is Chris Sims. I’m 22, and I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m also a conservative, which was a big reason why I moved to Texas. I graduated from high school in 2010 and spent two years at a local community college before I decided to move to Texas. Only one class transferred from the community college, which set my graduation date back a bit. Regardless of the delay, I’m determined to transfer to and graduate from Texas A&M-College Station with a degree in Computer Science.

I’ve been living here since January 2013. My dad is paying for my tuition (currently out-of-state) and wants me to graduate debt-free, which is expensive but not out of the question for a community college. For a four-year university, however, would be too much on an out-of-state basis. That’s my background in a nutshell.

My question to you is, would it be possible to make establishing in-state residency easier?

Thank you for your time, and I wish you well as you begin your governorship.

    Sincerely,
    Chris Sims
