    Kris, no…the result is fewer jobs. You assume that raising the wage has no connection to employment. If you want fewer people on gov’t programs, you eliminate the minimum wage, rather than raise it.

    MQS, some Republican officeholders talk about ending corporate favoritism, but tend to love taxpayer programs that give money to businesses to move to their state, like we do with our Texas Enterprise Fund. What is Abbott’s position on this fund for crony capitalists?

    The largest acid rain lake in the world is in an undeveloped area in Australia. That fact is irrelevant to the environmental quality of Australia. You’ve made two assertions, and without arguing with either, which I have no confidence in at all, I don’t see how they come to a conclusion that the environmental quality in Texas requires any particular development.

    For the record, air quality in downtown Dallas has been getting better for the last thirty years.

    I never know what a “living wage” is. If it is an idea that every job should pay enough to support a family of four, I have to state simply that not every job should pay that much. Some jobs are worth more than others, and many jobs are simply not capable of paying the bills of a four-person family. More minimum wage jobs also leads to more jobs that pay more than minimum wage, and more minimum wage jobs allows those who don’t have official credentials to demand higher wages to work their way up.
