We need smaller class sizes, less standardized tests and a stricter entrance process for teachers. I don’t mean requiring a teacher to have a higher degree. I think that teachers can have a high school diploma, but they need to be able to take a more difficult certification test for their areas of teaching and should also take a personality test to judge their character.
My children are fortunate to attend a wonderful charter school that has the smaller class sizes (15-18 students) and great teachers who truly care about the students.
When you combine education with relationships, it immensely improves the learning process as well as the character of the students.
