Dear Attorney General Abbott,
Isn’t this something you can do before you’re governor as the Attorney General?
The new AP U. S. History Framework is illegal according to our state law (HB 462).
Please stop the AP U. S. History Framework from being put into place in Texas because not only is it aligned with the Common Core, but it is also not aligned with the required Texas curriculum standards (TEKS).
Students can study TEKS aligned textbooks and take the widely accepted US History CLEP exams. CLEP exams are College Board created but don’t require an illegal framework taught in the classroom in order to gain credit, a simple work around to the bullying tactics used by those pushing Common Core on Texas students.
