When a homeless man dies of freezing in NYC, newspapers, TV and everyone is up in arms. WE MUST DO SOMETHING. But no one wants to delve into the circumstances of that poor unfortunate person. One person and several anecdotal stories cause progressives to leap into action, cause the progressive media to panic and write 100’s of stories and liberal state governments to pass laws to solve the problem of “homelessness” or a homeless person freezing to death. When the US House and US Senate are run by progressives, we get things like Social Security, Medicare and now ObamaCare. All are technical failures compared to what could have been done. All lower the standard of living of those who work. None is economically efficient or mathematically efficient.
