Doesn’t this plan seek to define a statewide “Gold Standard” for even younger children?
Donna Campbell, 11 years ago
Excellent point, Andie – and I’m so glad you brought it up. One size fits all policies are not a solution to a state as diverse as Texas. Every community is different, every school is different and every student is different. Quality educational options for all families are important – and these options exist, such as charter schools. School choice is the purest form of local control and I am a proponent of school choice. Thank you so much.

How does the proposed plan provide parents more options?
Julie Jumes, 11 years ago
Won’t it further limit options by filtering more education dollars through the state to define and assess it’s “Gold Standard” for our “Pre K Class,” our 2, 3, and 4 year old children whose parents were once free to spend more money caring for their young the way they saw fit?
