Texas officials need to support a plan like the 1-2-3 No Federal Tax plan which is suggested on Page 28 of the 2014 Texas GOP Party Platform. It is a method for allowing the State Legislature to have the right to establish a tax method like the Fair Tax for the citizens and businesses in the State of Texas. The 1-2-3 No Federal Tax plan would be simply a bill adding an option to the existing federal tax code that would allow the State to assume the federal tax that the States citizens and domestic businesses would have had to pay to the federal government. This would be set at the apportioned amount of the total Federal Taxes that would have been collected under the existing tax code, but apportioned based on the ratio of the number of citizens in the state to the total citizens in the country based on the latest census. The same ratio used for setting the federal congressional representatives.

Senator Cornyn’s staff has reported that for the Senator to support this it needs support from the officials in the state, We need to send a clear message to our congressional delegation, in addition to the TX GOP Platform, that we want to decide here at the state level how we are going to be taxed to support our share of the federal government burden.
