A veteran, with an honorable discharge, has already given so many years of their life toward freedom, liberty, the American people and so on. However, for certain benefits, they are only allowed to receive them if they make under a certain amount of money per year. There were no limitations on whether they would risk their lives to protect the United States if and only if they made so much per hour. They risked their lives, no matter what their pay happened to be. In return they will only receive certain benefits if they are financially unsuccessful as a veteran. They earned it, they should not be restricted when it comes time to pay them back.
