I’m one of those freeloaders who wants Medicaid expansion. I’ve got news for you: the only reason Obamacare isn’t working for me is because you won’t let people who fall into the gap, have the medical care we deserve. I know you probably think I should work harder and then I could afford real insurance. Or maybe you just think poor people should lay down and die. Health care is a basic human right. Has it occurred to you that people with no insurance have to use the ER because no dr will take you without insurance? I promise you are wasting taxpayers money by doing this. I can’t afford to go to the dr AT ALL. I am hopelessly in debt from medical bills. And I’m NOT the only one. I know plenty of people who fall in the gap. I work as much as I can, and I’m trying to get disability. I bet you think it’s easy to get disability. Well, it’s not. This is at least the third time I’ve applied. I think since you and your overly rich cohorts should try going without health insurance for a year and maybe you would see how it really is for a lot of your constituents. I am thoroughly disgusted with you and every other rich Texan who agrees with you guys on this issue. I did NOT vote for you and I NEVER will because you don’t care about the average Texan. I just find it fascinating that you and virtually every republican these days have managed to brainwash people into voting against their own interests. It’s also interesting that you don’t seem to have a direct email. Everyone has to go through this and be public with thir opinion of you. Is that because it would overflow with angry messages like this? I doubt you’ll see this or that you even care, but I’m posting it anyway. You need to know the reality of life here.

Tonya, I just read this, I don’t spend much time on his page. Yes, the fact that we in Texas have somehow missed the point here is a tribute to pandering, politics, and big money. If anyone really looked at the medicaid expansion, what it is, whom it benefits, and the fact that Texans already pay OTHER states via taxes for this benefit, perhaps they would not be so reactionary. Yes, I and others, while not in your situation, have researched and are mystified why Texans have been denied this, simply for political reasons. People in that’ in between gap’ are affected more than anyone. This governor, don’t forget became paralyzed as a result of a tree branch falling on him while he was jogging, wherein he sued the city for millions. He was privileged to have great medical care, and then further, raked in millions of taxpayer dollars via his lawsuit. Somehow republican Texans have been manipulated into believing that people in your or other circumstances are there due to laziness and bad choices. But for the Grace of God go I; my mom taught me that and I never forgot it.All I can say is, be an activist or at least register and VOTE, take people with you. Don’t stop trying to make people understand; education is all we have.
