  • DOES NOT!!! participate. Galveston does NOT participate in Social Security.
I thought there was an ‘edit’ link for my post. I was wrong.

“Acquire”: I would have said “Require”. “Acquire” implies state agency tried and thought they had approval. “Require” is a bit more authoritative for a jury, in my opinion. “Require” is the proper verb in my opinion.

I would go much further. Texas cannot sell any data. It is either posted on a public state government site and free, or simply not available. I cannot believe there are any critical ‘revenue’ issues here. Why should Texas (or, for that matter, any state) sell data? How much money does sale of data generate for Texas?

I suggest making the delay between Turning Red and the other direction Turning Green LONGER. That is how to save lives versus a ‘red-light-camera’. 3 fatal car collisions at an intersection increases delay by 100% (or some such). Red Light camera’s seem to me a revenue thing sold to the public by advertising safety. I don’t care if people ‘drift’ through stop signs looking both ways before proceeding. I do care about people not even slowing down. Find a way to fine those folks and I’m OK with automation. Red Light cameras seem to me to be only a revenue thing, not a safety thing.

I think this post does not comprehend the availability and access to such data. If Google and Amazon can do it, why prevent government from doing it. The real question is how to protect privacy. I have no solution. Therefore, my recommendation to all is
EVERYTHING YOU WRITE ON THE INTERNET CAN AND VERY WELL, MIGHT SHOW UP IN THE New York Times.
Don’t put anything on the internet or air waves (email, text msg, telephone call, …) that will incriminate you. Our Federal Government has
no morality as witnessed by Lois Lerner and the IRS. There is nothing we can do to prevent Lois Lerner from informing her superiors in an attempt to get more power or money. NOTHING! (Lerner, Snowden, Manning, …)

This, my friends, is one of the simplest and cleanest truths that could possibly expressed in law. Consider, even this. A doctor invents something that changes my DNA-generating bone marrow. I now have slightly different DNA. HOWEVER, it is still me. I own it. That doctor owns the thought and technique. No on can own the DNA. @GregAbbott_TX is absolutely correct. Only a Christian or a person of God could come to such a conclusion.

Mary, I suggest you document this with the name of the book, the publisher, the publication date, the page number and the quote. I think you have the quote above. PP is like Acore. Both were in it for the money AFAIK.

I’m thinking y’all are not thinking. A ConCon will gather 535 delegates many of whom (depending on exactly when it convenes) or most of whom would be progressives. My view is the US Constitution is a truly amazing document as it stands. Only those who think they know better than all of society and know how to help me, think the US Constitution is outdated. Those would include Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Obama’s handlers and Justice Ginsburg among others. Recall, Justice Ginsburg recommended to Arab Spring Egypt that the US Constitution is a bad model — that the South African constitution is more modern and would be better for Egyptians. [I am a student of PH] Arrogance and elitism is greed for power. Greed, as y’all know can be expressed in at least two way: money, power. Progressives are greedy.

I’m not comfortable with this one. SCOTUS has told states they must spend some money on Fed Laws. Roberts said, ObamaCare’s Medicaid carrot was beyond the pale. The question is, where, exactly is the pale?

I don’t know how to deal with the law of the land without going back to how my great great grandfather did. He just disobeyed, was tried and convicted and fined, but continued to disobey. He was a stationmaster on the underground railroad in Wilmington,DE. Texas should stand down from all federal government mandates, offering zero support from police, local and state regulators and all other forms of federal state cooperation. I believe some Texas leaders will have to be tried in federal courts. I’m OK with that. Were I a leader, I would willingly go forth. I really don’t know how to stop the avalanche of progressivism any other way than using the methods of MLK and Ghandi. Refuse at all levels of society in Texas. All the while Texas must make certain the citizens of Texas get adequate health care, adequate shelter and adequate food. Imagine if Texas were still its own country. We would have to do that anyway, right?

I’m OK with the requirements. The penalties are missing. I suggest a very sharp line can be drawn between legal and illegal candidates with this law. Draw that line in the law with the following penalty “or the candidate is disqualified without judicial review (to paraphrase PPACA)” and I’m all-in.
