I moved to Texas from GA only to find Texas has far more restrictive laws placed on law abiding gun owners. Open carry is illegal in Texas, campus carry is illegal in Texas, and Texas requires law abiding citizens who possess a concealed carry permit to submit to being disarmed and searched by any cop for any reason without suspicion of any wrong doing….simply because I have a permit.

Police should not be using the ‘stop and disarm’ law to harass the tiny percentage of law abiding Texans who have a permit, they should be focusing on the criminals who could care less about permits and who carry and use guns illegally.

The law should favor law abiding gun owners instead of giving police the right to treat them like criminals.

Funny how many states allow open carry and there are no problems but Texas has banned it because the mere sight of a law abiding gun owner exercising their right is somehow “scary” and “offensive”. Ive lives in Georgia, North Carolina, Utah, and Texas…and Texas has the most restrictive gun laws for law abiding citizens out of all these states. Even in California, a person with a CCW permit can carry on campus concealed.
