Common Core is so convoluted that mathematicians have a hard time figuring it out. Instead of trying to replace a flat tire with a Flintstones car, Texas needs to take the lead in our education and 1. bring God and discipline back into the schools instead of allowing kids to become heathens and run roughshod all over the teachers. When I went to school we recited the pledge of allegiance and said prayer before athletics and if we stepped out of line every teacher in my school had a paddle in their desk drawer ready to go. I went to a school in Central Texas. I even made a paddle for a teacher in Ag class. Kids knew what respect was then and this was only 30 years ago. The one thing needed most in our schools is discipline. There is no easy way of instilling discipline, it just has to be done. If parents won’t discipline their kids at home, dang it at least make today’s kids learn respect outside the home.
