Will Greg Abbott please lead the way for Dan Patrick, Ken Paxton and Donna Campbell in listening to parents instead of protecting private school team and league monetary interests? If you all will compromise home school rights to protect this special interest group what other parental rights will you risk? If you want parents involved show us. A bill to allow every individual passing student within his/her parent’s tax district UIL access is right. “It won’t pass without excluding a large number of private schooled students” is NOT good enough. The THSC’S smoke and mirrors “private school students have options home school students don’t” is NOT good enough. Very few private school students have access to large football teams like the Tebow Bill would provide for a select few. The distinction which risks homeschool/parental rights may have been made to gain PSAT access. Do you seriously believe the distinction in the realm of UIL/Texas Football poses no greater risk?

We are playing a large part in electing you all. We vote for you. Our adult children vote for you. Our families volunteer block walking, passing push cards at the polls, working booths, phone banking. How can it be that you would favor private team and league monetary interests over getting some of the most involved parents (and their money) back in community schools through UIL participation? It would be a win win for parental choice AND public school budgets.
